“Despite all the horror in the world right now, I leave Zakynthos with a calm mind, nourished belly, a tender open heart and a smile I can’t wipe off my face. It was pure joy to be able to feel free and be myself amongst strangers and feel the peace, light and love that Anisha guided us all into as a community. I arrived with books downloaded to entertain myself in case I didn’t vibe with the group, but I didn’t read more than a chapter. I felt energetically drawn to the group through the whole week. I even stayed near the group when I was toasting my bread on the final day reluctant to leave. They quickly became like a family I was drawn to. Something about the experience made me feel I could share and be seen with all of my flaws and imperfections. This isn’t a put your makeup on and wear matching lululemon tops and bottoms kind of retreat. Most of us wore the same 1 or 2 things for a week (despite private rooms and a washer in our villa) all of us simply caring much more to have our spirits lifted, our hearts opened, our bodies healed. No chatarangus here. This was mostly a spiritual journey more than a yoga retreat with enough fun to keep my busy body and mind entertained and enough zen and wine to keep me grounded. Thank you Anisha for leading us all week deeper into ourselves and lighting us up so we can shine outward in the world. Thank you David, Karen and Francesca for your incredible hospitality, to the drivers of our taxis and boats through the stunningly beautiful waters of Zakynthos-yes even Joseph who forced me off the boat against my will 😆 We danced. We laughed. We broke plates. Open hearts, connected souls, warmth, joy abiding💕💫”
